The Man's Heart

Science fiction flash (very short) story

In those first moments when he was simply the embryo, silicate wires and clockwork pieces were inserted into the tiny beginnings of his heart ...

Just as with his father, the man's time was measured carefully for him before he was the man, or even the boy. And thus every step of life dances on, orchestrated to a set number of heartbeats.

Produced for a flash (very short) fiction competition themed "Time," The Man's Heart was first released in 2004 in G Wells Taylor's amazing ezine The Wildclown Chronicle.

The Man's Heart can be enjoyed as part of Cacophony: Collected Short Stories Volume One.
